Essential Tech Accessories for Lawyering on the Beach

Now that spring is officially here, families are going away for spring break, and gearing up for summer vacations. And while you may only be fortunate enough to get a working vacation, if you have the right tech accessories, you won’t have to stay behind at the hotel while the rest of the family hits the beach.

When it comes to the basics of working from the beach, you will definitely want shelter from the sun, a sand-proof towel, a comfy beach chair, and, of course, your smartphone and laptop. In addition to these basic items, the following tech accessories will surely make working from the beach a breeze.

Mobile WiFi “Hot Spot” Device

You need internet. Fortunately, thanks to “mobile hot spot” devices like a Mifi, or even your smartphone, you don’t have to be without internet access anywhere. Unless your smartphone has unlimited data and can double as a WiFi router, you may want to consider getting a separate device to get mobile WiFi or internet for your laptop. If the hotel you’re staying in charges extra for internet access, one of these devices could basically pay for itself.

Solar Powered Charger

When you’re working away from any power sources, you’ll likely be limited by the battery life of your laptop, your smartphone, and whatever device is connecting you to the internet. Having a battery backup at the beach that all your devices can plug into is good, but having a solar powered battery backup/charger is even better. Though the price tags may seem high, can you really put a price on being able to bill on the beach?

Laptop Sun Shade

Unfortunately, most laptop users struggle and squint in order to see their screens in the sunlight. Also, laptops can overheat if left in direct sunlight for extended periods of time. But, if you’re prepared, you won’t have to worry about any of that. There are several different ways to shade your laptop from the sun ranging from fancy, high-tech, lightweight options to simple $6 Ikea solutions. You can thank the professional photography industry for the plethora of overpriced expensive options.
